Two numbers for the whole English card market: how the 100 most valuable vintage cards and the 100 most valuable modern cards have moved in price, month by month, since January 2022.

How the index is built
Each month the index takes the 100 most valuable ungraded cards in the segment that have a price at both the start and the end of the month, and measures how much that basket’s total value changed. The monthly changes are chained together from 100 in January 2022. Rebuilding the basket every month means a card that climbs into the top 100 counts from the month it arrives, and one that falls out stops counting, so the index follows the top of the market rather than a fixed list chosen with hindsight.
Prices are monthly averages of each card’s ungraded, near-mint value. Graded copies are left out: a single PSA 10 sale can move more than a hundred raw cards. Vintage covers the Wizards of the Coast sets (1999–2003); modern covers Sword & Shield, Scarlet & Violet and Mega Evolution.
The index currently ends in July 2026. After that month our price history switches from monthly averages to daily readings, and the first weeks of daily readings carried stale prices forward before catching up in steps. Chaining across the switch would show a jump that is a change of measurement, not a market move, so the index stops at the last monthly reading rather than publish it.
