PSA 10 Grading Premium Index
Across 3,456 English Pokémon cards with recent sales of both, a PSA 10 copy sells for a median 15.8× the ungraded price; a PSA 9 for 4.0×. The gap is a market reading of what a grade has been adding, not a promise of what grading will return.

Each day’s point is the median, across today’s eligible cards, of that card’s PSA 10 (or PSA 9) price divided by its ungraded price on that day, both read on the current pricing method. A day on which fewer than half the set had readings has no point.

How this is worked out
A card is in the PSA 10 set when its ungraded line has at least 5 sales in the last 90 days, its PSA 10 line has at least 3, its ungraded price is $1 or more, and its PSA 10 price comes from sales rather than a price guide (a PSA 10 figure filled from a price guide never counts). The multiple is the PSA 10 price divided by the ungraded price; the gap is the difference. The PSA 9 set is built the same way.
Medians and quartiles are over cards, so a card counts once whatever its price. Bands are by ungraded price. The daily line reads each card’s price history on today’s pricing method, so a night the method changed carries no move; it is drawn over today’s eligible set, so it describes the cards that qualify now rather than a fixed basket (survivorship). Wording: this is a historical price gap, never a grading return, because grading costs money, takes time and does not always come back a 10.
