Prism Star cards are Pokémon and Trainer cards with a ◇ symbol after the name. They appeared in English sets from Ultra Prism in 2018 to Team Up in 2019, during the Sun & Moon era. The game rule printed on each card says a deck can have only one copy of each Prism Star card, and that the card goes to the Lost Zone instead of the discard pile.

To spot one, look for the ◇ after the name and the rule text at the bottom of the card.

Prism Star cards were designed for play, so many are affordable. The most valuable are the Legendary and Mythical Pokémon. Giratina ◇ (Ultra Prism) and Darkrai ◇ (Ultra Prism) from Ultra Prism introduced the rarity. Latias ◇ (Celestial Storm) from Celestial Storm and Ditto ◇ (Lost Thunder) from Lost Thunder are other favorites with collectors.

Because the run lasted only a year and a half, a full set is manageable, and the rarity is a popular target for collectors who want a complete run from a single era. Condition and centering drive the price of the rare copies in top grades, so check both before buying or grading.
