Pack Simulator
Open simulated packs and boxes, and see what the pulls are worth at today’s prices against what the packs cost. A game: nothing is bought.
An average pack is worth $3.95 in ungraded cards at today’s prices. Pull rates: TCGplayer Authentication Center, “Pokémon TCG: Pitch Black Pull Rates”, at least 4,000 packs opened, checked 2026-10-04.
How it works
Each pack is filled slot by slot. A slot draws a rarity at its measured rate, then a card of that rarity from the set, each equally likely. The value is the ungraded price of every card pulled, the same price its own page shows.
The rates for the rarer cards were measured by the TCGplayer Authentication Center, which opens thousands of packs of each set and publishes what it finds. The pack itself is the standard one: four commons, three uncommons, two reverse holo cards and a rare, with the rarer cards taking the place of a reverse holo or the rare. Sets we hold no measured rates for can’t be opened here.
Three things are left out. An ordinary reverse holo is drawn evenly from the set’s commons, uncommons and rares and counted at the card’s ordinary price, so a pack here comes out worth a little less than a real one, where reverse holos tend to sell for a few cents more. Energy and code cards have no price. And the very rare “god packs” some sets hold aren’t simulated.
A pack’s cost is today’s price of a single sealed pack where we have one. Otherwise it is the set’s booster box (36 packs) or booster bundle (6 packs) split across the packs inside.
“Top 10%” means the opening was worth more than 90% of the simulated openings of the same size it was compared with. It says nothing about any real pack.
